Age as an asset

Age has become an asset to me, and ageing doesn’t scare me. How can we resist becoming wiser, more peaceful, more careless? Why do we try to work against time and keep proving to ourselves and others that we can still be counted on?

I have a feeling that time is a factor for us to change with, not against. When I was young, I was the master of multi tasking. I could easily juggle four kids, companies, houses and activites with ever feeling tired. I was a super woman of managing, I was the ultimate manager. I even had reading the young ones bedtime stories as a tick off on my list.

Today I move slow, if I move at all. I can easily spend a full day at home, where the only thing I manage during the day is watering my plants.

Does this make me less valuable? In a money machine making sense YES, of course. But as a human being, absolutely not. I’m here and available and present to all the oppurtunities a day can bring. The day gets planned as it unfolds.

Ageing is in my favor, and I’m happy that I already now have the wisdom to appreciate it.
